Espaces sonores is a homage to a kind of sound synthesis whose origins go back to the beginnings of electronic music and to the inventiveness of that time in developing the possibilities of synthesizers, enabling them to continually produce new, innovative sounds. One of the last truly trail-blazing synthesizers of this type in the 1980s was the Prophet VS from the California-based Sequential company. A conceptually refined and sound-aesthetically open synthesis structure guaranteed an almost infinite variety of sounds. A special feature of this synthesizer was the possibility to generate all parameters of the sound generation by chance. It thus offered timbres that were not influenced by existing sound ideas that everyone has when dealing with electronic sound generators.
